Alternative Fuel Vehicles: Go Green

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008
by Bruce Campbell

It is very important that scientists begin work on more efficient automobiles that take advantage of alternative fuels because most of the resources on the planet are of a limited nature and fuel consumption remains as high as ever. Fuel prices are skyrocketing and if current trends continue then soon a day will arrive in which there is no more oil.

Auto makers throughout the globe have begun to make hybrid cars that do not use gas or diesel fuel. Several years ago, we witnessed the debut of electric autos too. There is an ever increasing awareness that we must conserve energy. Numerous nations are considering the substitution of hybrid vehicles in place of their current gas or diesel fueled cars and vans.

Vehicles that utilize alternate fuels are becoming popular worldwide. Almost everyone has added them to their “priority list” – celebrities, businessmen and women, environmentalists, etc. Bio-diesel is one alternative fuel that is being used to run cars as well as larger vehicles. These alternative fuels have many advantages over old fuel types such as petrol and diesel.

Green cars (the name given to those cars which run on electricity, solar cells or bio-diesel) are being manufactured by top notch automobile companies all over the world. Considering their positive effects on the environment, they surely are here to stay. Research has proven that energy alternative fuel vehicles consume less fuel and give better mileage in comparison to the automobiles which run on gasoline or diesel.

It is true that energy alternative fuel vehicles are a little expensive at present, but as more and more people start purchasing such vehicles, their prices will definitely come down. There are many respiratory diseases which are the direct result of air-pollution. Automobile exhausts contain harmful gases which can cause allergies, respiratory infections as well as many other diseases.

Alternative fuel vehicles are totally free of pollution, though. After all, there is no harm done to the environment by vehicles that do not burn petrol or diesel. Citizens of many countries are embracing automobiles that run on solar power, and car companies are looking into the production of an increasing number of vehicles that can run on the renewable energy sources that are discussed here.

Learn How To Draw By Sharpening Your Observation Skills

Saturday, May 10th, 2008
by Michael Dale

Can it be true when someone says that they can’t draw?

The fact is that people draw every day… they just don’t know they are drawing.

The basic function of drawing is to make marks onto a surface to communicate ideas and information. Making marks is usually done with pictures and writing.

“You can draw if you can write”

The same skills are used in writing and drawing.

When you write you don’t think about what it is you are doing…

* You are forming lines

* You are drawing circles

* You are creating curves

It is easy for you to write. Writing comes naturally to you. You were taught to write from an early age. The skills come easily to you.

The same skills are used for drawing that you use when you write…

* You can use a series of lines to draw a house

* You use a combination of curves to draw a face

If you take time and are willing to put in the effort, you can learn to draw… there is nothing to stop you improving your drawing skills.

Take a pen or pencil and challenge yourself to draw a cat or a dog. Don’t be too concerned if the result isn’t too good. Your drawing could appear very different from what you would expect.

Because you already think that you can’t draw there is no surprise.

However, it could surprise you to learn that many artists would struggle to get an exact likeness.

When you learn to draw, the real challenge is to improve your observation skills.

As you look more closely at the cat and dog you will see more. Take a close look at the head…

* See the shape of the head

* See how the ears are placed on top

* See the eyes

* Look at the nose

Very soon you will see a clearer picture in your mind…

“Now, draw your dog or cat once more and you will see a vast improvement”

Math Games Are a Path to Success

Saturday, May 10th, 2008
by Fabian Toulouse

Do you have a son or daughter who is behind in math? Maybe it is a nine year old who resorts to laboriously counting on his fingers while his buddies long ago memorized their lists of addition and subtraction problems. Or perhaps your daughter refuses to absorb all those “boring” multiplication tables. Maybe the many steps of long division problems are too hard. Sometimes, the procedures for the problems they are being taught is foreign to today’s parents.

For whatever reason, math seems to be very difficult for some students, and parents feel helpless in the face of their children’s sense of failure. Sometimes fights erupt over homework, and there seems to be no improvement in sight. Math is a battleground for many families.

Whatever the cause, math skills can frequently be improved by turning what can be dull into a fun game. Math games exist for kids of every age-there are even preschool games to introduce number recognition. Chances are, your children already love to play video games. They play games online, games on PC, games on handheld devices, and games on any number of popular consoles.

So why not take advantage of this format to teach your child the math skills he or she needs to achieve in the classroom? Math games make learning a blast, so the same kids who balk at rote memorization will willingly spend the time it takes to master addition problems on the computer. A math game appeals to their sense of fun; it is challenging in a good way, not a wearyingly boring way.

Math skills are too important to let slide. These tools will serve your children for life, and missing out means degradation and struggle. Why helplessly watch your children fail when there are many paths to success in the school?

Selecting an Online College; Do it Right

Saturday, May 10th, 2008
by Dr. Casper Poodel

Unfortunately, many people don’t put enough thought into choosing a college or a degree program. Don’t be lazy. Don’t be in a big hurry. The key is to determine what you’re looking for in an online college or university and then taking the time to investigate your options. You might start with a Google search for “online colleges” and visits to some of the top online college and university websites. Then, request information from the colleges that seem most attractive to you.

First, eliminate all unaccredited colleges from consideration. In most instances, a degree from an unaccredited college or university is worthless at best. Sometimes, it can be a negative. I don’t think I’m the only one who would rather hire someone without a degree than someone I thought might be trying to fool people with a degree that means little or nothing.

Your second consideration when choosing which of the many online colleges in which you will enroll is which one(s) will best help you achieve your specific career goals. Which programs are designed to provide the skills and experiences you’ll require?

Convenience and flexibility are also critically important to most students considering online college degree programs. Therefore, you probably need to be sure the online college or university you choose allows you to do your assignments at a time and pace in line with the other demands on your time. Also, try to determine which online colleges offer the most interaction with faculty and other students.

Of course, cost is a consideration for most students. Most colleges and universities will inform you of their costs immediately, and costs are easy to compare objectively.

Remember that scholarships and financial aid can greatly impact your actual cost. In some instances, a college with higher tuition will wind up costing less than one with lower published costs.

Generally, you should apply for scholarships and financial aid as soon as possible. Most colleges offering online education employ financial aid counselors who can help guide you through this process. Take advantage of the expertise they can offer you.

The keys in choosing the best online college and best online degree program for you are taking the time to analyze your individual needs and preferences and reviewing your options carefully. It’s very much like school; if you put in the time, you’ll get the result you want.

For an artist they are a valuable guide to help an artist gain the skills of realistic looking drawings and paintings. Using horizon lines, vanishing points and view points you are helped to master your perspective awareness.

If You Wonder How Do I Become an Elementary School Art Teacher…

Friday, May 9th, 2008
by Sandra Wilson

You probably already know that an elementary education teacher helps to guide the children within her class in both the academic and social areas. She helps them learn to socialize endeavoring to lay a foundation for success in later life. These are the basics. If you want to know how do I become an elementary school art teacher, then there is even more to do to prepare to fulfill your role.

In this article we will explain to you what you need to do in order to teach elementary school children everything they need to know about art. Initially in order for you to become an elementary school teacher you will need to have some kind of formal education.

You may even discover that a master’s degree is eventually required as well. And then there are the required licenses and certifications for the state you wish to teach in. Each has different requirements.

In addition to the basic elementary teacher requirements, an elementary art teacher may just find it’s good sense to get one of the following degrees as well. It could be any good arts degree available such as a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, visual arts or even studio arts. You may just want to check with the state where you plan to teach and see if they require a specific arts degree.

When you first look into all the possibilities for schools for obtaining your art degree, keep these following points in mind during your search. The first is checking on the work experience of your instructors-to-be. Have any of them ever worked in the environment you hope to be teaching in? Find the time to meet those who would be your instructors. Even better would be getting to sit in on some of the classes.

Next check out what type of support this school provides to their graduating students for finding a job. Inquire as to whether or not they have a department, or possibly some counselors, that will help you with your search in finding a job after graduation. And be sure to find out what they charge to help you with finding a job, if they provide the service.

If you are able to, try and speak to former students who have completed the course and graduated from the school you are interested in attending. You will want to know the good as well as the bad points of the course work and placement service. Get tips on the teachers too.

Obtaining your art degree as well as your other required documents is not enough by itself. You must have a love for the subject of art as well. While you are guiding the children through their art lessons, your love of art will show through in your enthusiasm for the subject and this will convey itself to the children making them more eager to learn the lessons.

We hope the above points have helped you to answer your question of how do I become an elementary school art teacher. It is through obtaining the required degrees and certifications including an art degree. Once you have done so you will find yourself on an amazing adventure in helping all your students to more easily express themselves and perhaps to love art as much as you do.

Using College For Training In Correct Credit Card Use

Thursday, May 8th, 2008
by Michael Benifez

College is likely the time when a person has their own credit card without direct supervision. This can be a dangerous thing. If a student doesn’t understand how fast credit card debt can rack up, they are in for a rude awakening. The credit card company doesn’t care who owns the card or their financial experience level. The credit limit on college student cards are lower, which helps to keep debt lower, at least. None of this debt has to do with student loans, though. When any credit card debt at all is mixed with student loans, it seems to magnify the effect. Paying back a student loan and credit card debt racked up while they were a student can be tough, to say the least.

Credit card debt is so common with students in college because of their inexperience with cards that there is a term simply called “college student credit card debt”. That is the main reason there is a lower credit limit on their cards. To avoid college student credit card debt, the student has to do essentially the same thing as anyone else trying to avoid debt.

First, you must know that a credit card is not free money. You will have to pay back anything that you charge. If you don’t pay it back when the bill comes in, you must pay it back later with a high interest rate attached, making it tougher to pay back. The credit card should not be viewed any differently than cash. In addition to this, spending habits in general should be conservative even with a zero percentage rate card. Don’t buy things just because they are on sale, etc. Only buy necessities.

To help avoid overspending, a monthly budget is a good idea. The student should create and stick to a budget. This will ensure that they will stay out of debt. Next, only one credit card is really needed, so a student shouldn’t get a second one. If the student gets multiple cards, they will have more money available to spend because the credit limit will be higher total. With a higher limit, the student is much more likely to spend more, not be able to pay it back, and get into debt. One credit card is plenty for a student.

A credit card for a college student should train them for how a credit card should be treated. It should help them to learn about how credit cards work. They should be instructed first, though. They need to learn about APR, annual fees, interest, and the pitfalls of not paying the bills in full and on time. Learning from a negative experience with debt is certainly not ideal.

Are you an Online Learner?

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008
by Penelope Grant

Online degree programs may be a benefit to self-disciplined and independent learners. Accredited institutions offering online studies require students to work hard and maintain a dedication to their chosen program. Limited self-disciplined can make studying online a difficult task. Independence, hard work and a steady pace are required for online learners to reach their degree goals.

Online learners retain full responsibility for their academic future. Self-discipline is required under the best of circumstances, but students must realize that online learning places the learning experience in the hands of the dedicated student.

When trying for an online degree, it takes more than discipline and many students will find themselves falling by the wayside and slipping into slacker habits. If you are the type of person who is self disciplined, however, and enjoys working at his own pace, an online degree can be ideal for you.

If you are self determined, however, and want to truly further your education, it will not matter where you learn – whether it is in a traditional classroom setting or in the privacy of your own home.

An online education can offer many different benefits not offered by other classroom based settings. Here you can learn at your own pace, without having to leave your home. If you work a full time job, this can be the best way for you to learn and also be able to continue working and supporting yourself.

Students that have the initiative to learn can appreciate the benefits of online programs. The option of scheduling studies to fit a personal schedule may prove to be an ideal alternative for students to learn quickly and gain a head start on their career oriented studies.

Instead of waiting for the rest of the class to catch up to a certain lesson, someone who is earning their degree online is only responsible for their own studies. This means that a person who is always one step ahead can get their degree in record time.

Whether you want to learn quickly and get your degree in a shorter amount of time than it would take you in a traditional class setting, or if you want to learn at your own pace, in a leisurely way, you can find what you are looking for by obtaining an online degree. Anyone who wants to learn outside of a traditional classroom setting can do so, thanks to the opportunities afforded by the internet. If you are determined to get a degree in any field, you can do so online.

Students are now taking advantage of the opportunity to obtain a degree using online accredited programs. Online studies are ideal for those maintaining full time employment or those who are unable to attend traditional classes to earn a degree. Location is another added benefit for students who live at great distances from a conventional institutions. Online degrees have something to offer everyone and require hard work, dedication and self-motivation.

See How Easy Student Loans For The Undergraduate Really Are

Sunday, May 4th, 2008
by Michael Blair

Some of those on their way to college have nothing to worry about. Their parents have more than enough money and they are willing to fork over any amount so their children can go to any university they want. But for many who are on their way to college it is not so simple.

There are several sources of student loans for the undergraduate. Federally funded programs and private lending programs are available to help those who want to further their education.

The first step is to get an idea of the amount of financing you’ll need to go to school. The school you’re planning to attend will have a financial aid department. All schools will have different requirements when it comes to tuition, books, and other fees that may be present. You’ll also need to consider living expenses if you’re not planning to work while you attend school.

It is important to complete applications months before you’re planning to begin school. For example, if you’re planning to begin school in the fall, the spring season is not too early to begin investigating your financing options.

When your applications include those for federal student loans for the undergraduate you can plan on the process taking a little while. Everyone knows how slow government bureaucrats are, well student loans are no exception. The best place for you to start the process is to go to the financial aid office at your school. They will let you know what programs are available and tell you what you need to do.

The first place your financial aid office will send you is to fill out your FAFSA application, you can even do this online. The financial aid office and the FAFSA will start you down the road and let you know what is available to you. Maybe it’s a Stafford loan, a PLUS loan or even a Pell grant.

If you don’t qualify for federal programs it may be time to look into private student loans for the undergraduate studies. Where as with federal loans they don’t check on your credit history, private lenders will check it. But they also allow co-signers so it may not be quite so bad.

Now after your four years of college….or maybe 5 or 6, you will have to start repaying the student loans extended to during your studies. They are deferred while you are in school, but a year after you graduate, or stop being a full time student, you must start repaying them. Federal loans tend to have more flexible options for repayment, where as private lender do not.

There are many sources available for student loans for the undergraduate. Remember, the best place to begin searching for financial aid is the financial aid department of the school you’ll be attending.

It is recommended that you don’t even consider private lending sources until after this avenue has been investigated.
