What is Click Fraud

Friday, June 6th, 2008
by Terry Stanfield

Click fraud is a risk that goes along with doing any kind of pay per click advertising as part of your Search Engine Marketing strategy. Pay per click advertising can help you be sure that you’re getting some kind of return on your advertising investment because you’re only paying when someone clicks on your ad and goes to your site but not everyone clicking on your ads is interested in your products or services. Click fraud is when someone that has no interest in your products or services repeatedly clicks on your ad just to make you pay more money. It sounds like something that petty and spiteful person would do to one another but click fraud can lead to huge advertising bills for companies who aren’t getting anything in return for that money.

Anyone that uses search engine optimization wants to advertise their website and try to get more traffic but the point of using search engine optimization is to reach your target market and get members of your target market to click on your website. Search engine marketing and search engine optimization are safer bets than pay per click advertising because of the high risk of click fraud that comes with pay per click advertising. The biggest search engines like Google and Yahoo have built automated click fraud management programs to try and combat the growing problem of click fraud but it still happens everyday to lots of companies.

A larger company might not notice the click fraud until they end up with an advertising bill that is three or four times higher than they expected. When that happens a click fraud management team from the ad company will step in and try to determine if click fraud is responsible but unfortunately the law hasn’t quite kept up with the changing technology when it comes to click fraud. There are several large click fraud cases that are still pending in the courts. Companies feel that they shouldn’t have to pay huge advertising bills as a result of click fraud and that the ad companies have a responsibility to create a click fraud management system to keep click fraud from happening and the ad companies feel that the companies are responsible for the costs incurred by click fraud.

Click fraud isn’t just done by a single person or a group of people sitting at their computers clicking on a company’s ad over and over. There are automated programs that are designed to click on an ad thousands of times per day which can mean an astronomical bill for companies without giving them any new business. The new click fraud management programs that are being rolled out by the major ad companies and search engines are alleviating some of the click fraud problem but click fraud will almost always be a risk when you’re doing pay per click advertising. Search engine marketing with just plain old search engine optimization is a safer methods to drive traffic to your website although they may or may not drive as much traffic to your website as a few pay per click ads would. A combination of SEO and PPC with the right click fraud protection can be the a great strategy.

The maximum deduction you can claim for qualified clean-fuel vehicle property with respect to any motor vehicle is one of the following. You can get up to $2,000 for a car, or up to $50,000 for a truck.

1. A truck or van with a gross vehicle weight rating over 26,000 pounds or for a bus with a seating capacity of at least 20 adults (excluding the driver). $50,000

Some Campaign Management Secrets of Google AdWords

Friday, June 6th, 2008
by Maxine Stirling

Managing a Google AdWords campaign can be tricky, but there are some fundamental tips that you can use in order to increase your chances of success. The following is a breakdown of a few of the tips you can use in order to maximize your Google AdWords pay per click campaign efforts.

The first tip you should consider utilizing in your Google AdWords campaign is the use of keyword optimization. The best place to start when it comes to keyword optimization is being selective and researching your keywords. After this, you should figure out those keywords that have a very low conversion rate, and block them out by using negative keywords.

Some people who institute a Google AdWords campaign are not necessarily trying to sell a specific product, but simply trying to establish broader brand awareness. If this applies to your situation, then you may want to consider a cost-per-impression campaign. With this type of campaign, your text ads will show up on the web pages of relevant sites, and you will pay by gross impressions instead of clicks. This can be a cheap way to garner brand awareness, and put your name in front of a broader group of potential customers.

If you are very certain of your ability to convert potential prospects, then you may want to consider the Google AdWords campaign strategy of maximizing your keywords. This strategy is based on bulk sales, and relies heavily on your ability to convert potential prospects into sales on the backend. Some strategies for maximizing your keywords include adding typos of your keywords, reversed letters, and plural and singular versions of keywords. This will increase your potential audience and likely increase the number of clicks you get. Of course, you don’t want clicks that aren’t at least somewhat relevant to your product or service.

Another effective Google AdWords management technique is limiting your spending budget. You should do this on a daily, weekly or even monthly interval. The idea is to work with the budget you have and to maximize the dollars you do spend. Never just through more money at a pay per click campaign if you are not seeing results. It is important to analyze the situation and examine other possible reasons for your lack of success. These could include an ad that does not grab the reader’s attention, or the fact that your keywords produce prospects that are not relevant to your product or service.

Implementing some of these Google AdWords campaign management tips can help you experience success with your next PPC campaign. First think about the goals of your campaign, and then think about the best way to get there. Good luck.

Age-Old Question: Is MLM a Viable Membership Model?

Friday, June 6th, 2008
by Kim and Charles Petty

If you think you want to get involved with MLM, do your research first. The challenge with MLM businesses is that people at the top are most often the winners. The biggest majority of people at the bottom end up spending money and time to get involved and end up losing whatever they put in.

Multi-level marketing (MLM) is a marketing and distribution structure. People at the top sell to those below them, who in turn sell to those below them. The higher up you are in this structure, the more money you can make. Be sure to check with at least a few other people who’ve entered at your level (who you identify on your own, separate from people the MLM promoter refers you to), and see what they have to say. Find out what they have to say on how – and if it’s possible – to be successful.

There are advantages to Multi-level marketing. First, the start up cost is usually very low and that is a big plus to the work-at-home mom (for example) who has limited funds to launch an online business. It is a way to get started in an online business with a very small personal investment and that is a very appealing thing for many people. Pre-packaged tools and products are provided and that saves a lot of money and relieves the need for warehousing.

Also, sales techniques are given and for the newbie to Internet marketing this is a very attractive advantage.

There are also disadvantages to Multi-level marketing. Many (if not most) people lose money in MLM activities, because they can’t sell the product as effectively as they thought they could. And then there is the problem of credibility. It can become an issue, especially if you start treating friends like they’re customers.

Vending Machines With Clear Fronts

Thursday, June 5th, 2008
by Robert Farnham

In the world of vending machines, there is no shortage of customers to access them. What you do have to be aware of though is the number of other machines out there for them to choose from. You also want to capture the attention of those who would otherwise just walk by the vending machine without giving it a second thought.

You will find clear cover vending machines for all types of items including drinks, snacks, and candies. This means that you can use them for any type of products you are interested in selling. You want to use clear covers though that are scratch resistant. You also want to keep them clean. That way they will offer a more attractive view of what is inside.

There is a concern that this could end up resulting in vending machines being the target of theft though. Generally this type of change won’t increase the odds of that though. Someone who wants to steal the items from a vending machine or the money is going to be motivated by other factors. Do your best to prevent it by installing cameras and not placing your vending machines in isolated areas.

Even with a designed cover, theft can occur. They may just take a chance to see how much money is in there. They can also stake out the location to find out what your schedule is for taking the money out of it. The bottom line is that the reports of theft haven’t really increased or decreased with the use of clear front on them.

You will find though that vending machines with clear fronts cost more than other models. This is due to them being newer and that they can entice people to buy in ways that differ from an attractive advertisement on the front. For example seeing an ice cold soda is different from only seeing the picture of one on the vending machine front.

Used vending machines with clear fronts may be an option for you as well. You do want to make sure that they front isn’t scratched though. Such damage can deter customers from buying items. Look for those that are made from heavy plastic rather than glass as well. This will help to reduce the chances of scratches as well as breaks.

There are many different models of vending machines with clear fronts out there. It is wise to shop around and discover the various options. You can find out what other people are using and how they feel about them. Read the reviews they post online and look for any recalls or continuous problems on certain models.

Instead of a vending machine with a fancy front, consider one with a clear front. This way customers can see exactly what you have to offer inside of it. These are becoming increasingly popular. This is a great way to market your business that allows you to get an edge on the competition as well.
