Golf Club 9 Woods for Short Shots

Thursday, May 15th, 2008
by Paul J Easton

Today, many golfers are choosing hybrid golf clubs that have the look and feel of a wood but hit like an iron, from just about any location on, or near the fairway. This gives them the best of both worlds, the power of the wood with the lift of the iron.

One of the well used Hybrids is the golf club 9 woods. It lets a golfer to hit a low fast shot to the green, at the same time, high enough to make it stay on the green instead of rolling away down the other side.

One of the main reasons golfers are changing to hybrid clubs is how they feel when they hit through even moderately high grass like an iron. Many clubs appear similar to using a wood. They feel like a wood is being swung, allowing the golfer to have more control over the power of the shot.

A nine iron, is normally used for under 150-yard hits, close to the green. The golf club 9 woods are helping golfers have more success at placing the ball on the green from the short grass of the fairway.

A nine iron is also considered a high iron, not just due to the number but the way the ball launches off the ground into the air. It has more distance than a pitching or sand wedge and allows better control over the power for controlled distance.

Many golfers tend the favor the hybrid clubs and it gives more control over your shots, allowing the ball to stop suddenly on landing and keep the ball on the green. They have been compared to having glue placed on the ball.

Anything that helps the golfer avoid having to sadly watch the ball roll away down a hill, or into a sand trap has to be good for the game. If you haven’t tried a Golf Club 9 Woods, ask a friend or borrow one and try it out, it may increase the enjoyment of your game.

Left-Handed Golf Clubs, Wedges and PW

Left handed golf equipment is truly hard to find. As most left-handed golfers realize when they shop for a new set of golf clubs, the challenge of finding choice golf equipment is somewhat daunting. Most golf clubs are made for the right-handed golfer, and we must really shop for the product that we want. But that is changing for the better. We are well aware that the majority of club purchasers and golfers are right handed, so we have to accept that fact.

A lot of left handed golfers have experienced difficulties in finding a great set of left handed irons, left handed putters or left handed drivers. Even the finest golf stores and golf pro shops are unlikely to carry more than a few sets of choice clubs. But wait, there is a new way to go about this. Order your golf equipment through a dedicated website, or use Ebay. Many major golf manufacturers use the internet and Ebay to expand the product offering in their stores. You see, they can maintain the inventory in a warehouse that servers several stores and ship the item when an order is placed. This way on warehouse can serve a lot of customers and as a result they can carry more left-handed golf equipment.

Left-handed golfers did not choose to be left-handed golfers but we must adapt to golfing in a right-handed world. Analyzing left-handed golfers at the driving range and golf course, I notice that we have a lot of the same tendencies. We for some reason tend to slice the golf ball far left. As a new golfer you can learn to compensate.

Once you have determined that you want to learn how to golf using your left-hand, you should buy left-handed golf clubs that you really want, and not just a set because they are the only ones that the local store has in stock. Every manufacturer makes left handed golf clubs and you should get the set of your choice.

With the emergence of online shopping, getting a set of left handed clubs has become immeasurably easier. There are an abundance of sites that specialize in left handed irons, left handed drivers, left handed putters, and left handed golf gloves (lefties wear the glove on the right hand). At many sites you can place your order and have your clubs within days. One very attractive venue to buy left-handed golf clubs now is at auction sites. You can find low prices and if you like to bid, you can sometimes even name your price.

It takes hard work and dedication to become an excellent left-handed golfer. Any experienced golfer will tell you that it takes a lot of practice excel at your new favorite sport. That is not a problem for most players however because often golf feels more like an addiction than a chore. You must practice in order to drive the ball straight and long. And there are more skills that you have to add to your game before you can really start to enjoy the results of your practice and hard work whether you are a left-handed golfer or not.

A good piece of advice that I received when learning to play golf was to try to find a left-handed golf instructor. Even though I originally learned from a right-handed golf pro, getting swing refinement from a left-handed golf pro proved tremendously valuable. Left handed golf instructors are able to teach you more about your swing and the tendencies of left-handed golfers.

There are currently more left handed people in the world than ever. With the population increases, the number of left handed people has also risen. Some say that the number of people who primarily use their left hand is on a steady rise. With the left handle population growing so rapidly, it will start to make sense for manufacturers of golf equipment to begin rolling out more irons, drivers, putters, and gloves for us.

Top Essentials When Backpacking or Hiking For an Extended Stay

by Shawn Stanley

When choosing an outdoor sport to spend some time in the great escapes of the world, backpacking and hiking are the best of all possible choices. Getting in touch with nature and viewing the world from a spot that is secluded and wonderful are great choices for individuals and families. When preparing for backpacking or hiking, it is important to being along some true essentials in order to make for the safest possible trip one can prepare for.

Protect yourself from the sun. When backpacking or hiking the sun is your deadliest force. From the skin to the eyes, the sun can wreak havoc on the body from every angle. Sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 should be used by every person in the backpacking or hiking team. The sunscreen should also be waterproof to fight off that sweat from the sun. The eyes too need to be protected and a pair or two of sunglasses is the perfect way to add that extra bit of protection.

Be safe. Safety is another huge concern when backpacking or hiking. Letting others in your group know where you are in case of an accidental separation is easy with a whistle. The time of the year when the backpacking or hiking trip is taking place will determine which type of whistle is needed. For winter months a plastic whistle with no “pea” is just right to prevent the “pea” from freezing or the whistle from freezing to your lips.

The fluid of life. Water will be the largest part of the backpacking and hiking trip. With constant movement comes the constant need for water. Every team member will be packing water for the trip, but for safety, a constant water supply will need to be assured. An outdoor water filtration device can turn any water into drinkable water in a few minutes.

Fire Starter. A fire is the center of warmth and food when backpacking or hiking. Bringing along a firestarter or some waterproof matches can mean a world of difference when stuck out overnight at a camp. Backpacking and hiking is supposed to be fun, but without fire the night can be long and cold.

Treating Injuries. Even though every backpacking or hiking trip would ideally be without injury, no one can assure this will happen. A first aid kit needs to be prepared for every pack, not just one. Carrying an individual first aid kit is the right choice just in case one of the people backpacking or hiking gets separated from the rest of the group. The first aid kit should include a pocket knife and pocket tool set, as well as the general first aid supplies.

Don’t get lost. Getting lost is one of the worst feelings of all time. A compass and a map can help to keep all backpacking and hiking team members on the right trail throughout the trip. These two essentials are the ones that are forgotten a lot of times when packing the bundles for the trip. Every member of the backpacking and hiking team should have access to a compass and map.

Hiking and backpacking are great ways to get a little physical activity and become better acquainted with nature and life outside. Together as a team, the backpacking and hiking group needs to make sure that every pack includes these essentials as a base and build the pack from there.

Multiply your Carp Fishing Catches Using Fish Feeding Secrets!

Saturday, May 10th, 2008
by Tim Richardson

Few carp fishermen realise that fish can switch their modes of feeding and you can exploit these and manipulate these to catch more fish! In fact you can make fish feed in the specific way you want by the form and size of baits you introduce as ground bait or chum making it ideal for far more natural and confident feeding leading to more bites.

Blood worms (and jokers) are notorious natural baits known for being banned owing to their extreme success at match venues. This is a good lesson to all carp anglers in how carp feed and exploit their modes of feeding. Fish like carp can feed in many ways, from dashing about after fry, to slowly sifting through silt for many hours with their heads totally buried. It makes logical sense to get to know exactly what your fish is eating at what time of day or night, where and why in order to fully exploit the form of feeding used at any point in time, or to even induce the one you wish the carp to use in order perhaps to hook them more easily by leveraging special bait formats and ingredients.

For instance, fish can harvest the extremely nutrient rich algae purely by sucking on stones and gravel. They can also particulate feed and filter on zooplankton and algae for instance in the upper layers of the water in spring and summer especially when building up reserves of energy before and after spawning activities. This reflects in the ways that fine bread and fish meal based ground baits can be fed upon in ways where the fish do not have to actually feed on the bottom, but consume it higher up in the water in suspension.

This kind of feeding or similar can be used to further explore the potential of your hook baits and free baits as food items even before your bait is actually touched by a fish. You might have seen a fish suddenly dart towards a bait after having started gulping in water first to taste your bait more efficiently using taste buds in the pharyngeal cavity in the gill area. Fish also use gulping in a snapping motion in a mobile pump feeding) or static position to filter feed and particulate feed and carp and bream do this much of the time in turbid lakes; lazy of what!

When filter feeding and using similar and related modes, carp can actually benefit from you baits nutrition and attraction without even touching them which definitely has its advantages if you use this to excite them fully before they actually feed. Such things as vegetable and fish oils, fine crustacean and milk extract powders and liver and digestive tract extracts for example, can all be exploited, but there are thousands of choices. You bait substances through carp filter feeding can induce a feeding frenzy state even before your carp have even swallowed a single bait!

It is natural for fish like bream, roach, carp, tench, barbel, and even bass and trout, to filter feed at times by capturing various sized food particles within their branchial sieves. However there this sieving can be adjusted in order to capture patches of fine particles or to capture larger single items and the characteristic speed of this feeding can vary between species. In the case of carp which are termed slow suction feeders, although they can suck up finer particles from one head length away from it at surprisingly high velocities indeed.

It often seems to be the case that carp fishing baits focus goes on chemical smells for instance which are very obvious to our senses, but it needs to be remembered that fish have extremely fine tuned lateral line cells which use electrochemical impulses in the detection of food items even by the tiny movements of zooplankton only 1 millimetre in diameter. The gape size of a fish’s mouth is normally not a limiting factor in efficient feeding, but the diameter of the area where the food is chewed is and it is often far less than the gape of the mouth. Therefore its makes sense to exploit this and use smaller baits than often recommended. In fact carp in turbid lakes predominantly depend on food which is in particle size, so why not go with this approach not against it!

Smaller food items can naturally be passed to the throat teeth in mouthfuls without any problem and of course the more energy efficient the food delivery system is the better. It can often be the case that small baits are the preferred choice of more experienced big fish anglers because they can see the benefits of smaller food items in regards how fish feed on such baits and also their more natural weight, size and movement in water when combined with a correctly balanced hook rig. I find boilies in the 6 to 8 millimetre size excellent for bigger more wary fish even with huge mouths!

How many big carp get hooked by match anglers at the end of a day of baiting up constantly with tiny pouches of fine bread crumb and fish meal and tiny micro pellet ground baits; it happens far more often than carp anglers like to imagine. The constant ground baiting is one factor along with the fine tackle they use, but mostly, match anglers are offering carp the ideal form of ground bait to exploit their natural filter feeding modes. Literally matching up your bait to the feeding modes of fish and even influencing which mode and feeding intensity occurs can seriously improve your catches all season; it just takes a little bait know-how…

The Portability and Flexibility of Correspondence Courses

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008
by Susan Atkinson

Correspondence courses are especially suitable for the geographically isolated, adults with many demands on their time, and the homebound. Business and industry and the armed forces make extensive use of correspondence programs. Correspondence courses are available at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, in a diverse range of areas both academic and practical.

Correspondence courses are not only for the home learners today but can be taken by those who work 9 to 5. Many opt for correspondence courses because they allow the student to manage their time in a better fashion, thus allowing them to extract more out of each day in their lives.

Students who wish to apply credit earned through correspondence study to a college degree or a high school diploma should consult the resident institution before enrolling in a correspondence study course. Most institutions have limitations on the number and kinds of correspondence study credits they will accept.

Unlike full-year courses, semester-based courses may qualify for financial aid. Students who cannot remain in school due to a circumstance, e.g., illness, distance, or other reason, may request a school board to consider paying the registration fee and may request a school to consider providing course textbooks.

Students need to be proficient in email, internet browsing, chat rooms and other common computer applications. Most correspondence between the student and instructor occurs via the course management system and email. Students are encouraged to email their questions and actively participate.

It is advised that whenever signing up with a college for a correspondence course that you check their credentials and ensure they are an accredited educational institution.
